The Country Living Fair is on the horizon, and this year, things will be a little bit different. In conjunction with the arrival of the fair scheduled for June 6-8 at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, the House of the Year will be completed and open to the public for tours. The house, located in Rhinebeck, was built by a design team that included Catskill Farms‘ Charles Petersheim, who built a brand new, old-fashioned farm house with a wrap around porch. So far, we’ve only seen the outside in pictures, and we’re dying of curiosity about how the interior will look. According to Jay Hanson, Catskill Farms’ Project Coordinator, the Country Living House of the Year “mirrors the same intricacies and attention-to-detail that has become the signature of Catskill Farms. With wide-plank floors, salvaged plank ceilings, open floor plans, and security system with all the newest amenities, the house has an ‘old-home feel’ with modern luxuries and conveniences.” More information on the design team here, more information on the fair here, and more about Catskill Farms, including photos of previous builds, here. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, yes, the house has already been purchased. Fair tickets include a house tour. Purchase tickets here.
