Don’t Let the Outside Fool You…
Kandy Harris | June 16, 2014We’re not even bothering to post a picture of what the house looks on the outside. You can see it if you got to the listing, but we almost skipped right past this place in Beacon based solely on the exterior alone. Not that it’s terrible; it’s just a little bland. And it doesn’t really explain much. The interior, on the other hand, is a different story. First off, it’s huge, over 4500 square feet, with 5 beds/3 baths. We like the diagonal wood flooring, the spa baths, and the farmhouse doors that lend this mid-60s mid-mod a touch of the old-fashioned. Lot size is small but includes a patio and seating space that looks perfect for entertaining, as well as a salt water solar-heated above ground pool. One feature we find odd, though, is the fence with gates blocking off the kitchen. Does the current occupants have pets? Small children? A mysterious need for security while preparing dinner? Located about a half-mile from Main Street and about a mile from the waterfront park and Metro North station. Listing price is $419,900.
