Elka Park Colonial + 2 acres, $395,000
Kandy Harris | June 4, 2014
Have you heard of Elka Park? We’ve mentioned it a time or two here on Upstater. Elka Park is a private residential community located just south of Tannersville village and a few miles from Hunter. Did your eyes glaze over at “private residential community?” It’s understandable why they would. But forget about the images such words invoke, images of houses made of ticky-tacky or McMansions situated in the wide open with no vegetation to provide privacy between lots much less a hint of shade. Oh no, Elka Park isn’t like that. The community is listed on the National Historic Registry and consists of grand Victorian homes as well as smaller abodes, all sharing a clubhouse, restaurant, pool, tennis courts, hiking trails, ponds, streams, nature. And the prices are not absurd. While this Colonial is not a 19th century Victorian (it was built in 2011 to resemble an old-fashioned school house), it’s not too shabby with high ceilings, over 2000 square feet, chef’s kitchen, full basement, and attic. Plus, it’s on 2 acres of land. We’ve got another Elka Park property coming up this week, so stay tuned. Meanwhile, have a gander at the Elka Park website.
