If you’re considering making The Big Move to the country to farmhouse or old barn (see above) that needs renovating, we highly recommend the book Country Matters by Michael Korda. We’ve been gobbling up this book about the author’s relocation to an old farm in Pleasant Valley, Dutchess County with abandon, and it certainly engenders a healthy fear of making the decision to do what he’s done. Our minds immediately went to the book when we took a look at this old 3,000 square foot barn located in Ghent, Columbia County. If you’ve got the appropriate constitution, patience, and funds, you could turn this barn into something spectacular.
