Fixer-Upper of the Week: Carmel Cottage, $250,000
Upstater | May 23, 2012
What’s nice about this place is the location — under two hours from Brooklyn, not far from the Taconic — and the lot, four flat acres. It’s a handyman special, very close to the public Black Pond lake. Carmel is pricey, of course, but even so this seems like a lot for a fixer-upper. Attributes: There’s an old abandoned house on the property (Ms. Havisham, anyone?) and a barn/garage with electricity. Lots of fun for the handy folks out there.

90 Crossroad Ct, Carmel, NY. $250,000. GMAP
