Friday Real Estate Porn: Hopewell Junction Colonial, $849,000
Upstater | March 23, 2012As noted earlier in the week, Hopewell Junction is a Mecca for McMansions. If you’re looking to drop $900,000 on something over 3,000 square feet, built in the last 10 years, this is your spot.
But if you’re looking for something older, with a bit more history, you have to look hard. And while we don’t necessarily think this 19th century Colonial, at 268 Creamery Road, is drool-worthy in its current state, it certainly could be. What we find most charming right now is the barn.
Here’s the skinny: the vast amount of farmland it once sat upon has already been subdivided, if not built. It has six acres of its own, plenty enough for privacy, and while you will have neighbors, at least you’ll be certain of how many there’ll be.
It’s been appraised for much less than the asking price, according to Property Shark, so the taxes are reasonable: under $6,000.
