From the Forum: Swimming near Bethel?

A reader posted in the Forum, looking for a good spot near Bethel and Swan Lake to take kids swimming. We suggest Lake Superior (no, not that Lake Superior), a beautiful lake in a state park just south of the original Woodstock site. It costs $5/person to get in, but on weekdays it’s quiet, peaceful and clean, and very good for kids.

One draw back: the swimmable section of the lake is roped off, so you can’t take a nice, grownup swim out into the center and enjoy the view. But they have paddle boats!

Anyone else have suggestions?
