From the Listings: Margaretville Theater + Apartments, $269,000
Upstater | June 4, 2012Margaretville is a treasure of the Western Catskills, and fairly well recovered from the hard hit it took during Hurricane Irene. One thing is doesn’t have is a movie theater, which is why two New Yorkers purchased the Galli Curci Theater Building, renovated the apartment on top and prepared to transform the 6,000 square foot raw space below into a cinema.
And then a funny thing happened. Their careers in the film business took off, and they found less time for their weekend upstate life. So they’re selling the place, which also has a renovated storefront and that two-bed, two-bath apartment. All this for $269,000. Of course, it doesn’t have to be a movie theater. Anybody have any 6,000-square-foot ideas?
