Once a defunct elementary school, soon to be the Woodstock Music Lab.

Have you heard the news about the Woodstock Music Lab, the two-year college level music school (accommodating ages 18-25) that will be housed in the defunct Zena Elementary School on Sawkill Road in Woodstock? While the Music Lab isn’t yet operating as a school, that doesn’t mean you can’t take peek at what it’s all about tonight, February 5th at the Paul Green Rock Academy Best of Season Show. It’s the first official event of the Music Lab, which will be run by Paul Green and Woodstock ’69 promoter Michael Lang, and will feature performances by Rock Academy students playing songs from their most recent shows.

The Woodstock Music Lab open house starts at 6pm with tours of the school, an auction, refreshments from Miss Lucy’s Kitchen in Saugerties, carnival games and prizes. Music kicks off at 7pm. $10/ticket gets you in the door and also pays for the PGRA Scholarship Fund. Why should you go? Because music schools are good things, and, to quote Frank Zappa, music is the best. The Woodstock Music Lab is located at 1700 Sawkill Road, Woodstock.
