Gingerbread Gothic Victorian with River Views, $310,000
Kandy Harris | April 24, 2015

As we close out Historic Homes Week, we couldn’t help but jump all over this winsome c.1850s Gothic Vic, completely with a steep peak in the front and ornate trim all around. We love the arched windows and doorways, wood flooring, and the use of reclaimed wood as a backsplash for the living room woodstove. Looks some parts of the exterior might need a bit of freshening up, perhaps some updates for the kitchen, and a new coat of paint or three could be nice, as well, but overall, we were surprised that a Gothic in good shape sitting on nearly an acre-and-a-half of land right in the center of idyllic Cornwall on Hudson, with water views, an hour from the city, would run this cheap given the area marketplace. And then we realized that it’s right on the railroad tracks, and we’re guessing it’s noisy. Here’s a sad trombone sound just in case you need one right now.
