Back in Sullivan County for this Decked-out Cottage with Mountain and River Views, $174,900

Views of both the Delaware River and the Pennsylvania mountains from your front porch in this Glen Spey NY cottage…

After yesterday afternoon’s road trip to Glen Spey in Sullivan County, we decided to stick around the neighborhood and to see what else we could find in the $200K or less category.

Less than 10 minutes south of Glen Spey, near Sparrow Bush, we discovered this woodsy-chic one-bedroom cottage. It’s perched above the Delaware River on nearly an acre of land, complete with front-row views of the neighboring state on the other side. Here’s a view of the property from above:

…and, thanks to the magic of the Internet, here’s a view toward the property from the PA side across the Delaware River:

In short, it’s a beautiful natural setting less than two hours from NYC. One might say it’s perfect for a small cottage with lots of creature comforts, like this one.

With a single bedroom, the 1,150 square foot abode might be best suited as a hidden getaway than full-time residence. However, for those who are looking for a more solitary existence year-round, this would do well. Features like butcher block counter tops, double farm sink, stainless appliances, island with wine rack, and induction cooktop make the kitchen more modern than rustic. Like to take long soaks in the tub? The single bath includes a soaking tub and rainfall shower.

Oh, did we say there’s a single bedroom? Technically, that’s true. But, the finished attic looks like a potential sleeping loft to us, or home office, or home studio. Bonus space!

Of course, though, the highlight of this cottage is the view. Enjoy it all from the generously-sized front deck perfect for small evening soirees.
