Heavy Metal in Beacon this Weekend

Not that kind of heavy metal. Actual metal, in liquid form, hotter than the bowels of Hades, being poured from a massive outdoor furnace. That’s exactly what’s in store during the Hefestus Iron Pour (named after the Greek god of metalworkers) in Beacon on Saturday, October 4. Artists, sculptors, and metal workers from all over the local community who reserved a mold through Hefestus’ Kickstarter campaign will gather to use all that molten metal to create their own masterpieces throughout the course of the day. Attendees can also participate in workshops, listen to music, eat, drink, and be merry from 2pm ’til 10pm. Admission is free. Check out the event website for more information.
