Hillsdale c.1811 Colonial Fixer-Upper on Four Acres, $299,000
Kandy Harris | February 25, 2016Quirky and inefficient though they can be, these old houses were build to last so they can be passed along from generation to generation. This 3500 square foot Colonial in eastern Columbia County certainly seems to have those coveted “good bones” that make the idea of fixing it up feasible. In fact, we don’t see a ton wrong with it aside from the kitchen needing a rehab and some soot-stained chimneys, but that’s not something we can determine from photos.
What we can determine from the photos is that we love the huge bay windows e off the main sitting room, perfect to serve as a sunbathed reading nook. Includes 5 beds/4 full baths, 2 half-baths, mudroom with built-in cubbies, and 4 rolling green acres near the NY/MA border in rural Columbia County. Enjoy skiing? Catamount is minutes away, as is Great Barrington, MA. Gorgeous old home, gorgeous rural countryside.
