Historic Church in Putnam Valley, $200,000
Kandy Harris | August 28, 2013This church was built in 1891 and has historical status, which means thou shalt leave the exterior alone. Inside, however, you could go nuts turning this into a open-floor plan space, or a house/studio, or a theater, or a gallery, or, or, or. The interior seems a little bland, but their are a few stained glass windows. Also comes with a big carriage house. Alas, its downfall is its location, as is so often the case with churches. It’s right on Peekskill Hollow Road, so if you’re going for the commercial business thing, it could work for you. From a private residence standpoint, some strategically-placed plantings, shade trees, and hedges could provide some privacy and shielding from the road. Can I get an “amen”?
