Hopewell Junction Contemporary, $369,900

  |  March 19, 2012

Might as well start this week off in Hopewell Junction with a bang. There’s so much going on with 320 Long Hill Road, it’s hard to know where to begin. And we know we’re in trouble when even the listing describes it as “indescribable,” but we’ll do our best.

Clearly it was designed with an Asian theme in mind, but the theme is reading more like “Chinese Restaurant,” right down to the landscaping. Nonetheless, the house is screaming with potential in so many ways, and we think that someone with the design skills to tackle this beast could make it something truly impressive. Or, the buyer could simply leave it as-is and enjoy  living in one enormous conversation starter.

Here’s the nitty-gritty: The house is smidge over 2,000 square feet, situated on nearly four acres. Property includes some pretty extensive landscaping, as well as a pond, gazebo, and lion sculptures. The location is pretty rural, but it’s close to the Taconic State Parkway. It’s reminiscent of the black-lacquered, Asian-inspired designs that were popular in the 80s, yet the listing puts it as built in 1999. We would love to see what could be done with this place, if placed in the right hands.
