Explore Hudson Valley Ruins through Lecture @ Hudson River Maritime Museum Sept. 13
Kandy Harris | August 30, 2017Forget the hard hats and flashlights. On Wednesday, September 13th, you can explore Hudson Valley ruins from the relative safety and comfort of the Hudson River Martime Museum in downtown Kingston.
Authors/photographers/local ruins experts Robert J. Yasinsac and Thomas Rinaldi will be lecturing and signing their 2006 book “Hudson Valley Ruins: Forgotten Landmarks of an American Landscape” starting at 7pm. If you’re unfamiliar with Yasinsac and Rinaldi, do your homework ahead time by checking out their stunning photos and enlightening write-ups on famous ruins like Bannerman Castle and less-famous sites like mills, factories, foundries, schools, hospitals, and private residences. The Hudson River Martime Museum is located at 50 Rondout Landing, Kingston, NY. Suggested donation for the lecture is $5.
For more information the Hudson Valley ruins lecture, visit the Facebook event page. You can also take a photo tour of ruins in the Hudson Valley and Catskills at Yasinsac and Rindaldi’s photo exhibit now on display at the NYS Museum in Albany until December 31, 2017. And which ruins are on display? We’d tell you but we wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise…
