Huge Bungalow-Style Home in Hobart, $69,900
Kandy Harris | June 19, 2015And by huge, we mean 3400 square feet of indoor space, which is either a blessing (large family, in need of some elbow room) or a curse (heating costs). Given the listing price, that breaks down to $21/square foot, and that’s just too affordable to ignore. Not surprisingly, we had to go way north to find it in a rural section of Delaware County near a village called Hobart. We talked about Hobart, AKA Book Village of the Catskills, last week when we posted about a recent piece the Guardian. While definitely not in Hobart village proper, this bungalow on an more than an acre of land is literally a 2 minute drive away. Yes, the house needs love and a giant dollop of fixing up, but our brains are buzzing with the potential of it all. The land is pretty open field-like, as if a blank canvas upon which to paint your Enchanting Summer Escape dreams. Or something like that. Be prepared to throw some cash at this.
