Kerhonkson Refurbished Barn in the Woods, $329,000
Kandy Harris | June 16, 2015
Here’s a cool story: This red barn, located in the woods of Kerhonkson, lived in Poughkeepsie during the 19th century and first half of the 20th. However, in 1960, it was dismantled and moved, piece by piece, to its current spot in Ulster County. No easy feat, to be sure, but we’re glad it happened considering it’s now hidden deep in the forest on nearly 10 acres of land overlooking a spring-fed swimming pond. We’ve always longed to live in a treehouse, and given it’s perched up and comes with a second story balcony + enclosed porch, it’s close enough to fit our fantasy. Interior includes a large living room with high cathedral ceilings, spiral staircase, and stone fireplace.
