Knotty pine haters, beware: There’s a whole mess of it in this chalet-style house in Lexington. But we don’t find it so objectionable in here, partly because it’s tempered by a wall of windows, which helps break it up a little and provide heaps of natural light. Other stuff we like: The wood stove, the high ceilings, the open floor plan, the giant deck, and the cool bath. Chalet styles are generally low on our favorites list; however, this one works for us. Plus, it’s situated on nearly two acres with pretty mountain views nowhere near water, which means a low flood risk.
