This lovely, pristine 1928 Cape Cod isn’t a lakefront property, but it’s a stone’s throw away, and just that bit of distance from the water seems to make a difference in price in Mahopac. Any lake town, really. If you can deal with not living directly on the water, you could stand to save a few thousand bucks. And this is a great house. We are practically salivating over those green walls, which led to eyeballing our own walls, wondering if we could pull off that color as effectively. Probably not. Beautiful color scheming aside, the house has some nifty nooks and crannies, and that slate porch is something else.
