Maple Weekend in Sullivan County
Upstater | March 9, 2012Global warming has apparently unleashed an early stream of sap from maple trees, so starting this Saturday, the first of three Sullivan County Maple Weekends begins. “Maple Weekend activities kick-off on Saturday, March 10, with a free hike at the picturesque Frost Valley YMCA in Claryville to their Maple Sugar House where they will explain the whole tap to table process,” says a press release that found its way to our inbox. “On Sunday March 18, the 17th annual Maple Weekend, enjoy a trio of maple delights combined to give you a sweet winter Catskills experience. Start with a maple inspired tasting at Main Street Farm in Livingston Manor, followed by an invigorating hike led by Morgan Outdoors through the maple groves at Catskill Mountain Sugar House, capped off with a tour of this state of the art facility.”
