Melding Modern Interiors with Traditional Vibes in Woodstock

If you like the town of Woodstock, you’ll want to see this house.
This traditional farmhouse in Woodstock is located right on Rock City Road, a half-mile north of the town center. Built in 1910, the house now has modern upgrades that make the interior bright and fresh. The exterior is cute, too, with thoughtful landscaping and a rustic-but-elegant fence.
The dark-wood stair treads and slate foyer floor contrast nicely with splashes of white on the risers, the walls, and the beautifully paneled stairwell.
This room is big and bright, with what looks like a closet or shelving system along one wall. That hardwood flooring just glows.
A sliding barn door sits across from a huge, mullioned window in this room just off the foyer.
The kitchen has interesting, hexagonal-shaped oxblood ceramic floor tile; bifold-concealed laundry machines and a bifold-doored pantry; and a huge, aproned, undermount sink with chef-quality stainless-steel fixtures and appliances.
This full bath is an explosion of veiny black-and-white marble that covers the floor and part of the walls, including an oversized shower that also houses a standalone soaking tub. A backlit vanity mirror raises the snazzy factor even higher.
This bedroom, in contrast, is soothingly neutral with a hardwood floor.
We love the lavender-over-white-wainscoting walls in this bedroom. The black-trimmed windows are a surprise, too.
Babysoft pinkish beige marries a smoky sage in this half-bath: On paper, we’d swear it’d never work, and yet here it certainly does, in our opinion.
Another bedroom has nice wood flooring and light-colored walls, with a rattan-covered ceiling pendant light.
Rustic wood blocks comprise the slender vanity in the second full bath. White subway tiles march the perimeter, and black hexagonal floor tile has white grouting.
Tiny squares of watery-green tile fill the shower stall in a surprising splash of welcome color.
Spartan woodwork tables mimic the severity of the gray walls in this otherwise sunny room.
The four-bedroom home measures 1,754 square feet. Although it’s close to town, it sits on a third of an acre with a sizeable driveway and a detached garage.
Catty-corner to the garage is another structure that’s now being used as a climate-controlled greenhouse.
There’s also a swingset and a treehouse!
A firepit welcomes a crowd on a starry night, too. The house is listed for $825,000.
