Mirbeau Inn & Spa Rhinebeck: A Parisian-Style Luxury Resort in the Heart of the Hudson Valley

  |  April 6, 2023

Walking through the quaint tree- and shop-lined streets of Rhinebeck, one might be forgiven for thinking they’d been transported to a posh village somewhere in Europe where the pace of life is a little more relaxed. It makes sense, then, that Rhinebeck would have a hotel that specializes in a European sense of gentility and commitment to everyday luxury.

Opened in 2019 in the heart of Rhinebeck’s historic village, Mirbeau Inn & Spa Rhinebeck is the third location of Linda and Gary Dower’s refined Mirbeau hotel concept, which they founded in Skaneateles in New York’s Finger Lakes region in the 1990s.

In contrast to American hotels’ emphasis on convenience alone, Mirbeau wanted to create a restful getaway with a refined Parisian-style ambience and classic pleasures that provided balance to their guests’ busy lifestyles.

Elegant Accommodations

Mirbeau Inn & Spa Rhinebeck offers a plethora of opportunities for guests to relax and unwind in the Hudson Valley in luxurious style. In 2022, the Rhinebeck resort was even honored with inclusion in the Forbes Travel Guide, which identifies the most impressive hotels, restaurants, spas, and ocean cruise ships across the globe.

The 49-room hotel offers gracious accommodations with a variety of features sure to make any guest feel like royalty, including fireplaces, oversized soaking tubs, and Juliet balconies that overlook the property. A variety of overnight packages include special perks such as spa treatments, dinner and breakfast for two, and even rose petals scattered in the room before arrival.

Relax the Day Away at Spa Mirbeau

One of Mirbeau’s defining features is its stellar spa experience. Guests enjoy complimentary access to the 12,000-square-foot spa and many of the amenities and fitness classes. (And for anyone local in need of a little R&R, day passes are also available.)

With 14 treatment rooms, a state-of-the-art fitness facility, eucalyptus-infused steam rooms, Himalayan salt saunas, a resting area with a fireplace and meditation rock, a menu of ultra-luxe treatments, and an outdoor Aqua Terrace with hot whirlpool and private bar, there’s more than enough reason to relax the entire day away.

Locally Influenced Bistro Fare

In true pampered style, guests can head over to the on-site restaurant, Willow, and enjoy a locally influenced meal while lounging in their plush spa robes—a signature Mirbeau touch.

Willow’s menu is defined by sophisticated French classics and modern interpretations of bistro fare such as steak frites and mussels, with weekly specials that turn out a crowd like “Burgers and Brews” on Wednesdays from 3 to 7pm and $1 oysters on Thursdays from 3 to 6pm.

The restaurant is open to both hotel guests and the public for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as brunch on weekends and holidays like Mothers’ Day and Easter. The restaurant also has outdoor seating on the canopy-shaded deck and regular musical acts that complete the picturesque European-style experience in style.
