Monticello Cottage w/Indoor Pool, $119,000
Kandy Harris | June 5, 2012Oh, so much to say about this Monticello village house! We won’t bury the lede on this one, so we’ll just come right out with it: It has its own all-season indoor pool.
Additionally, it’s got a crazy restaurant-grade kitchen, steam shower, and whirl pool tub. What’s up with this house? Well, the obvious reason it’s so cheap is because it’s in Monticello, which a lot of people consider to be an undesirable place to live. But we think it’s a fine place to do some house bargain hunting.
Oddly, the backyard is covered in what appears to be Astro-Turf. We’re not sure what to make of that, except that maybe the previous owners simply didn’t feel like mowing. Hey, we can’t blame them for that. Mowing is kind of a pain.
So let’s break down the assets: The house goes for $50/square foot, taxes are low, it’s got its own indoor pool, and, for better or worse (depending on how you look at things), it’s located right in the village. The lot is small, but who cares? Two words: Indoor pool.
