Dutchess County beer lovers, rejoice. Construction has commenced on the region’s newest brewery-in-the-making. The Hudson Valley Brewing Company, located in the city of Beacon, will occupy 18000 square feet of disused factory space at 7 East Main Street, and, according to a recent press release, it will include a taproom, wholesale manufacturing facility, and event space. Nothing makes us happier than hearing about an old, historic building getting an upgrade into something valuable for the whole community, something that Beacon has gotten really good at doing (consider Beacon’s art lofts). Hudson Valley Brewery President John-Anthony Gargiulo said in the press release:

“It was really important to us to preserve this building and bring it back online. It also happens to offer the perfect space for each aspect of our business: a beautiful, welcoming entry near Main Street for the taproom, a second level with high ceilings and original beams for private events, and a large warehouse space in the back for a 30-barrel brewhouse.”

The Hudson Valley Brewery is slated to open its doors during spring 2016. Keep up with the c.1880s factory building’s rehab and get updates on the project by liking the Brewery’s FB page. Welcome to the neighborhood!
