New on the Market: Beacon Colonial, $319,000
Kandy Harris | June 18, 2014What we like about this c.1890 Colonial is that it has a big yard. That’s definitely something we had a hard time finding within the Beacon city limits. It’s a quarter acre, which is small if you’re out in the sticks and want several acres to farm or simply to separate you from the neighbors, but Beacon is a city. A small city, but a city nonetheless, so a quarter acre corner lot is a rare find here. Nice neighborhood, too. The Street view literally shows kids riding bikes in front of the house. Inside, it’s the floors we like the most, followed by its bright cheerfulness, roomy kitchen, and a few built-ins for good measure. Located alongside the Fishkill Creek a bit north of the city center, about 3.5 miles from the Metro North and waterfront. The only thing missing is the white picket fence. Oh wait. Nope, it’s got that, too.
