What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?

Still struggling with New Year’s Eve plans? Here’s a thought: Come upstate and enjoy some low-key (and not so low-key) celebrations of the end of 2016…because for some of us, 2017 can’t come soon enough.

On less low-key side, there’s the Uptown Kingston NYE’s Celebration. A number of bars, restaurants, and music venues are participating in Kingston’s big party, and the midnight ball drop on Wall Street is free admittance. BSP on Wall Street might be a great place to stake your claim on NYE. Doors at 8pm. Music performances by The Felice Brothers, Tony Touch, the Big Takeover, and Lara Hope and the Arktones. Circus acts, too. Tickets to the BSP party are $34.35 and can be purchased here.

On the low-key, romantic side, Diamond Mills in the village of Saugerties is serving a special NYE menu accompanied by live piano music. Stay overnight at Diamond Mills on NYE and save a little dough. Up the block from the hotel, the village will be having its own ball drop celebration, and lots of bars and restaurants will be open late that night. Best news? It’s all within stumbling distance of your hotel room. Safety first!

Club Helsinki in Hudson has live music on NYE, or you could combine your skiing/snowboarding trip with a night of NYE frivolity at Windham Mountain in the Catskills. Whatever your speed, there’s something going on in the Upstater area. Got any recommendations? Sound off in comments!
