Attention, upstate daytrippers: It might be time to bump Germantown up to the top of your list. Just recently, NYT’s Travel section caught wind of the southern Columbia County hamlet and all the new (and old) stuff it has to offer. In the new department, Gaskins tavern on Church Street, right in the heart of Germantown, as well as Luddite on Main Street. Otto’s Market is one of the more established businesses in the community, and they get some love from NYT, too.
Our favorite thing about Germantown? Antique farmhouses, of course, like this one currently on the market. What’s not to love?
