This house on Chambers Street is pretty interesting. The price certainly makes you take a second look. This house is located on Chambers Street between 1st and Broadway. If there is a section of Chambers Street to buy a house, it would probably be this one. We’ve looked at other properties on this block and listed the pros.

  • Houses on the left, 45 & 47 Chambers were totally reconstructed during a housing blitz. They are home to two new families that own their properties contributing to Newburgh homeowners and now the lot is no longer scary and abandoned.
  • Around the corner, actor, writer and producer Robert Fontaine is fixing up a carriage house. So far it looks amazing. Fontaine is looking to improve Newburgh in many aspects.
  • La Vida Urban Garden is at the corner, as well as an art mural.
  • And 9-11 Chambers down the block is home to a few artist studios, some of which host art shows and musical events throughout the year.

There are still a few more abandoned buildings on the block, like 55 Chambers peaking out in the photo. But, the location will be optimal when the Ritz Theater is restored. It is only down the block, and you are walking distance to many Newburgh attractions. The habitation of these 3 homes would drastically change this corner. Here’s a listing for 53 Chambers for only $39,000. Another dated listing for 55 Chambers.
