Oak Hill Salt Box, $124,900

  |  March 1, 2012

As we mentioned in other property posts featuring houses just outside of our designated Town of the Week, sometimes, we have to break our own rules so that we can show you something truly wonderful. Yes, that’s right. We make our own rules AND we break them, all for you.

This house is one such case of worthwhile rule-breaking. Located in Oak Hill (about four-and-a-half miles from East Durham) , this salt box is chockablock with amazing details, with an acre of land surrounding it. For the price, any buyer is getting much more than their money’s worth. Cue the photos and the drool.

We love the details like the slanted bedroom door, the glass doors to the living room, the big butcher’s block in the kitchen, the slate floor entryway, we could go on.

If there’s a downside to this property it’s that the house is right on Route 22, and it’s pretty close to its next-door neighbors. However, there are privacy trees and greenery between the two, and the generous back patio is tucked back a bit. And Route 22 is a country road, not a major thoroughfare. There’s not much around except other houses, but Durham Elementary School is less than a mile away, which is great for a buyer with little ones.
