Who says there aren’t affordable getaways in upstate New York? True, you don’t have much room for the family if you pick up this one-room schoolhouse in Harpersfield, NY, northwest of the Catskills. But you do have beautiful views, a “vintage outhouse” and so much charm. The listing says “renovated,” but we think that by replacing the carpet, and painting over the wood paneling and some of the brick, the renovation should be much improved.
