Oneonta Craftsman, $279,900

  |  August 1, 2012

We love the look of this Craftsman, especially the interior oak trim and the French doors in nearly every room, but we’re always a little suspicious when there are no pictures of the kitchen. Based on the quality of the rest of the house, however, it would be hard to imagine that the kitchen is a big, horrible mess. It’s also walking distance (via a lovely wooded path) to Wilber Park, which looks like a great place to have a wander around in nature or take the kids to the playground or the pool. According to the listing, it’s a mere 25 steps away, which seems remarkably specific. Did someone actually count? Either way, a pool and a playground 25 steps away sounds good to us.

But what really caught our eye about this house was the veranda with curtains and skylights. We want it. Our first thought was “Private outdoor yoga studio!”, and then “Private outdoor summer dance party!” What would you do with a private veranda with curtains? Put up more curtains and install an outdoor shower? Maybe turn it into an outdoor room?
