Buy this Orange County NY Brick Foreclosure For a Song, $169K
Kandy Harris | October 5, 2017It brings us no joy to say this, but foreclosures abound in this part of the Hudson Valley. It’s a sad story, but there are some real beauties hidden among the listings, like this Orange County NY brick foreclosure with three bedrooms, three floors, and nearly 3000 square feet of interior space.
It could certainly use updating, but the sturdy 1930s house comes with a family room fireplace, a mix of hardwood and tile floors, built-in cabinetry, and large windows. Everything needs repainted, and the baseboard heating is in rough shape. Furthermore, we went to the Google Streetview and discovered that, although the front door and stairs have clearly been fixed since the Street view photo was taken, red paint now covers up its attractive old-fashioned brick facade. Huge bummer! Still, this big old house is packed with cool house potential. And, in case you’re curious, stripping paint off of brick involves brick acid, so get yourself a hazmat suit…or at least industrial hand and eye protection.
Also includes a barn on the quarter-acre lot situated in Middletown, about 30 minutes due west of Newburgh city.
29 Bennett Street, Middletown (John J Lease)
