Think you have to head to the wilderness to find a place near a lake? Think again with this Newburgh Orange Lake cottage…

Upstate New York resorts weren’t limited to the Catskill Mountains. Orange Lake in Orange County was once the sight of a bustling tourist trade thanks to the Newburgh trolley and steamboat back at the turn-of-the-century. An amusement park entertained a multitude of visitors during its heyday, and big-name acts like Benny Goodman, Ozzie Nelson, and Tommy Dorsey performed at the bandstand.

These days, however, the amusement park is gone and in its place stands a quiet lakeside community, which is home to this renovated two-bedroom cottage. And, while it’s not right on the lake, it’s across the road and includes deeded rights.

Furthermore, this cottage sports one attractive remodel with refinished wood floors, new paint, new kitchen with stainless steel and granite, electric, plumbing, roof, insulation, windows, bathroom…do we need to go on? Almost everything is new here.

Includes 740 square feet with two bedrooms. The master bedroom comes with a walk-in closet and a small, private balcony. The second bedroom comes with carpet and would make a good guest room or office.

Orange Lake is about 15 minutes northwest of Newburgh, close to both Interstates 87 and 84 as well as the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge.
