Wish List House #6: The Perfect Inexpensive Delaware County Farmhouse, $169,900

A house need not be expensive or fancy in order for us to include it on our House Wish List. This inexpensive Delaware County farmhouse is neither, but it’s got a lot about it to love, especially since the listing price is around $77/square feet.

This c.1900 house could be fancy, though, with some work on the exterior, but we see nothing wrong with the 2200 square foot interior. Includes hardwood floors, French double doors, a formal dining room fireplace, tin + wood-beamed ceilings, and updated kitchen/baths.

Enjoy a nice view of the surrounding mountains from the screened-in porch, or spread out in the yard since the property also includes 7.4 acres of land. Is privacy on your personal House Wish List? Then you need to be looking at this house.

Located in the northwestern Catskill Mountains, so make sure your car has good winter tires. The nearest sizable town is Walton, about 20 minutes away. Close to outdoor recreation by the boatload and about 2.5 hours from NYC.
