This Plattekill Mini-Farm Isn’t so Mini After All, $299,900
Kandy Harris | March 2, 2016
It’s bigger than it looks. The main 1920s farmhouse on this rural Ulster County property is a sprawling 2300 with 5 beds/2 baths, plus full basement, a detached workshop, and 2.2 acres of land. It also looks like there’s an apartment included (or a second kitchen, at least), so plenty of room for guests and maybe even some privacy, to boot.
We love the original wood and stone work, as well as the high ceilings. There’s definitely room for improvement here with some of the rooms, but it’s a lot of bang for your buck, especially given the amount of land that comes with it (enough to grow some serious produce, but not so much as to be more trouble than it’s worth). And, its agrarian locale is still convenient to New Paltz, Poughkeepsie, Mohonk Preserve, and Minnewaska State Park, not to mention those illustrious Hudson Valley wineries we’ve been talking about all week. Speaking of which, are you picturing grape arbors on this property, or is it just us?
