Prepare to Drop Your Jaw Over this Converted Barn in Putnam Co., $1,295,000
Staff | April 28, 2017
It’s Friday, and that means it’s Five-Figure Friday. For an inexpensive property in the Catskills, check out this farmhouse on the West Branch of the Delaware River.
Meanwhile, we wanted something awe-inspiring to round out the week, so we looked to Putnam County, east-of-Hudson, and found this jaw-dropper of a converted barn in the town of Philipstown. Located practically next door to Boscobel, the barn/carriage house was originally constructed in the 1840s but shines with modern touches, like a completely open 4000-square foot floor plan, soaring ceilings, modernized kitchen, and solarium with views of the in-ground pool.
Includes three huge bedrooms, two full baths, exposed brick by the boatload, studio space, and office, not to mention period-accurate sliding carriage house doors with stained glass windows. We love those.

As for its location, it’s situated within striking distance of Boscobel’s grounds, Indian Brook Falls, and Constitution Marsh. The Garrison and Cold Spring train stations are 5 minutes away to the south and north, respectively, but trains run more often from the Cold Spring station. NYC is about an hour away.
65 Indian Brook Road, Garrison (Houlihan Lawrence)
