Stately Vintage Wilderness Lodge in Putnam County, $995K
Staff | June 15, 2018It’s almost the weekend, so let’s wile away the afternoon, dreaming of wiling away the afternoon in this Putnam Valley vintage lodge…
And, as we wrap up Pool Week on Upstater, we thought it would be fun to go out with a bang. This 20.5-acre property offers just the bang we’re looking for in the form of a spring-fed swimming pool, waterfall, and stream. The grounds even boast a private island in Canopus Creek.
Built of stone and meant to last, the main house sports a modernized 3,790-square foot interior with floo-to-ceiling stone fireplace, exposed beams, cathedral ceilings, wood and stone tile floors, big windows, and skylights for maximum natural light exposure. If you love the cook, the kitchen might give you heart palpitations…
We especially love the master bedroom suite with balcony…
…and the master bath with copper soaking tub.
Really, though, when it comes to getting in the water, we would want to do it here, in the coolest front yard water feature/natural pool in Putnam County. Your guests will likely feel the same, so it’s a good thing there’s additional room above the garage.
Situated about 15 minutes east of both Garrison and Cold Spring on the Hudson River, so there’s two train stations at your disposal. Or, you can hop on Route 9D to the Peekskill station, or head to points south via the Taconic State Parkway.
