Coxsackie, NY is peaceful Hudson Valley village populated with beautiful older homes, like this Queen Anne house with a big fenced backyard.
The village of Coxsackie is one of those Hudson River towns that come as a surprise you that you’d never heard about it before. That’s because the village is, for the most part, comprised of residential neighborhoods. Its small town center offers much in the way of charm but little in the way of the kinds of bars, restaurants, and boutiques that bring people into nearby Hudson, Kingston, or Saugerties. However, if you’re looking for a slower pace, idyllic surroundings, and an affordable listing price, Coxsackie is where it’s at.
Situated in Greene County about 15 minutes north of Catskill village, this two-bedroom home is just exactly why we like to house-hunt around here. The curb-appeal is apparent with the rocking chair front porch and the gingerbread details…
…and the 1,478-square-foot interior should keep your interest with lots of light, hardwood floors, an updated kitchen (do you think the owners would throw in the Harry Potter cookbook if we asked?), and a formal dining room.
This alcove off the living room would make a terrific home office/remote learning classroom…
…and, in addition to the home’s two bedrooms and two full baths, there’s a walk-up attic that is calling out to for a transformation into a third bedroom, master loft, studio, or playroom.
Got dogs? The fenced-in backyard provides plenty of safe outdoor time, with a stone patio for the humans to enjoy some cookouts under the stars.
If south-of-$250K right in your price rang. Upstater’s got your back this week with our favorite Hudson Valley and Catskills real estate listings for under $250,000, like this Italianate Victorian in nearby Athens, NY.
