Kick off your weekend in Kingston this Friday at outdated: an antique cafe, which is hosting the second annual auction of more than 60 works of art, vintage art, and art objects to benefit O+ Festival.

The auction presents an excellent opportunity for new collectors – and new upstate homeowners! – to begin acquiring works as there are no minimum bid requirements. Long-time collectors can feel good knowing all auction proceeds benefit the nonprofit O+ Festival, which connects artists and musicians with health and wellness providers.

This year’s offerings include a stunning 74” x 82” oil on canvas by painter and O+ executive director Joe Concra and an imaginative, highly detailed 54″ x 36″ acrylic on canvas by award-winning fantasy artist Sean Andrew Murray.

Kingston is now home to two New Yorker cartoonists, who have generously given to Friday’s auction. Michael Crawford has donated a signed 8.5″ x 11″ drawing in marker and pen and O+ alumna Carolita Johnson has donated an original cartoon featured in the publication in 2015.

Kieran Kinsella, whose hand-carved stools and side tables have been featured in Wallpaper magazine and Design Spongehas given an 18″d x 18″h “dome stump” stool side table bleached maple.

Fans of the many murals gifted to Kingston by O+ Festival artists can take a little of that inspiration home with them thanks to donations by Gaia, Kimberly Kae, Matthew Pleva, Will Lytle aka Thorneater Comics and Scott Michael Ackerman.

Collectors have donated works from surreal landscape painter and printmaker Karl Fortess (1907-1993) and silkscreens by Phillip Schreibman (1925-2007) – both called Woodstock home.

RSVP to the Facebook event page to view more works for auction. An online catalog is available as well. If you cannot make it to the auction, email a left bid to outdatedcafe@gmail.com.

It’s art for artist’s sake and thanks to a grant from the Tides Foundation, your donation is matched dollar for dollar. See you Friday, paddle in hand!
