Wish List House #4: Reclaimed Wood-Built Modern Home in Sullivan Co., $479K

  |  December 21, 2017

I wouldn’t say I’ve been stalking this house, but…I’ve kind of been stalking this house.

It showed up on the market a couple of weeks ago, and as I was flipping through the photos, it went from “ACTIVE” to “PENDING CONTINUE TO SHOW.” Cue the sad trombone sound.

Well, it just so happens to be back on the market now, no longer sale-pending, which means we get to put it our Hudson Valley House Wish List this week. Cue the confetti!

It’s not hard to see why we might fall in love with this house situated 7.8 acres in southern Sullivan County. Originally built in 1971, the two bedroom, 1750 square foot home was fully renovated last year using reclaimed wood to give it a rustic, rough-hewn feel.

The interior is packed with custom details, including hardwood and slate floors, huge windows, skylights, a kitchen fit for feeding the masses breakfast in the morning, custom-tiled soaking tub, master bedroom fireplace, and 19′ vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams.

As for its location, it’s situated along the Plattekill Creek and next door to the Blue Cliff Monastery. If the environment suits monastic living, you can bet it’s gorgeous and private.
