Red Farmhouse near Woodstock, $159,000
Upstater Staff | October 7, 2014Woodstock got two shout-outs from Vogue Magazine yesterday: Jonathan Van Meter’s piece on relocating there from Manhattan (we posted about it yesterday), which was followed up by Vogue’s weekend guide to Woodstock and environs. After these came out, a friend of ours quipped, “Buy your houses while there are still some left!” We’re not sure housing stock will get snatched up that quickly based on Vogue alone, but certainly properties listing for less than $200,000, like the one depicted above, probably won’t stay on the market for long (they usually don’t, anyway, without the press attention). This red farmhouse isn’t right in the village of Woodstock, but up in Willow, which is about 15 minutes west of Woodstock and 15 minutes east of Phoenicia. It’s definitely got heaps of charm both inside and out, but we would probably remove the corrugated plastic from the front porch overhang. Sits on nearly a full acre of land across the road from the Beaverkill. Love the size of that kitchen.
