Reminder: Newburgh Urban Market Opening Day 5/31
Kandy Harris | May 28, 2014If you haven’t already, set an alarm on your smartphone, ink a big circle on your paper calendar (yes, people still use those), tie a string around your finger, whatever you need to do in order to remind yourself that this Saturday, May 31st, is opening day for the Newburgh Urban Market. The much-anticipated outdoor event runs from 10am to 4pm at 50 Liberty Street (GMAP) with lots of vendors plying their wares (here’s the list). The ultimate goal of the market is to bolster the city as an urban shopping and walking center as well as “act as a launching pad for businesses to eventually open up a brick and mortar shop,” so says the market homepage. All great reasons to stop by and visit this Saturday with some spending cash in your pocket. The market takes place twice a month through October (June 14 & 21, July 12 & 26, August 9 & 30, September 13 & 27, and October 11 & 25). More info at the Urban Market website. But the market isn’t the only excitement coming up in Newburgh this summer. Stay tuned…
