Restored Rosendale Colonial with Trestle View: $675K

Upstater visits the Ulster County town of Rosendale this week.
Popular for its “FroZendale” festival (we just missed it this past weekend) in winter, the town attracts hikers to its Rosendale Trestle and rail trail year-round. Today we’re in the hamlet of Cottekill, at a c.1900 restored Rosendale Colonial with high-end restorations and additions.

The listing boasts an 880-square-foot addition; with the home’s listed total square footage of 1,050 square feet, that’s quite an expansion. The entry is bright, with hints of Scandinavian style in its light woods and use of white.

The kitchen features Shluter Ditra heated slate flooring and top-of-the-line, stainless-steel GE appliances.

White cabinets are topped with granite counters, and mosaic tile adds pizzazz to the backsplash.

The dining room flows into the living room, on a nice hardwood floor.

The primary bedroom has neutral walls and lots of windows. A sliding barn door opens…

…to the ensuite bath. It’s got a floating, rustic wood vanity.

The oversized shower has blue tiles in moody tones.

A second bedroom has a graceful, curved window alcove.

The second full bath is a mix of neutrals and white, with gleaming gold accents. The bathrooms have heated floors.

The third bedroom is big enough for two beds to fit comfortably.

A half-bath sports a columnar sink.

The house sits on a somewhat hilly half-acre.

It’s close to transit routes and within view of the Rosendale Trestle—the first railroad bridge over the Rondout Creek. The house is identified by its red patio umbrella in this image.
