This Rhinebeck NY Dutch Colonial is an 1840s beauty with nearly 6,000 square feet of space…

Crow Hill in Rhinebeck has been many things to many people over the years: Private residence, school, and back to private residence once more. And, it didn’t always look the way it does now.

With distinctive gambrel roof, this Gothic Dutch Colonial bears a slight resemblance to the Amityville Horror House. That gambrel roof, though, is a relatively new addition to the house since it was added in the 1950s. In fact, not much of its original Gothic appearance is left. More’s the pity. The house is still gorgeous, regardless.

As we close out this week celebrating homes with fireplaces, we wanted to feature something with a lot of fireplaces. This property fits the bill with at least seven fireplaces, by our count. There are two on the first floor in the living room, one in the dining room, one in each of the two upstairs bedrooms, one in the second floor family room, and one in the third floor master suite.

Situated about five minutes from Rhinebeck’s village center and less than 10 minutes from the Rhinecliff Amtrak station.
