Rosendale 17th-Century Farmhouse, $925,000

  |  August 31, 2012

On-the-ball-readers, correct us if we’re wrong, but the Johannes Van Wegenen House (known as “Wagendaal” on the blue sign) in Rosendale just might be the oldest property we’ve featured on Upstater to date. Built in 1669, which is mind-blowingly old, the farmhouse has been extensively renovated, but the old stone work has been left in tact. Interesting juicy historical tidbit: Sojourner Truth supposedly hid there during the Underground Railroad days.

Aside from it being a cool old stone house, Wagendaal has 390 feet of Rondout Creek frontage. And if that’s not enough water for you, the house also includes a swimming pool and hot tub. Situated on nearly 4 acres. Long story short: We just love this place.
