We’ve decided to dig our claws in and hold onto summer until winter comes right up to us and wrestles it out of our vice-like deathgrip. This seems to happen every year. We try to cram as much fun as we can into the season, only to realize by the end of August that we’ve done almost nothing that we had planned. There’s still some time left, though, and even when September rolls around, upstate New York is notorious for pulling an Indian Summer out of the bag every now and again. So, time to book a weekend rental. Our friends at Red Cottage Inc. always seem to have a decent selection, and this romantic cottage in Callicoon Center, Sullivan County, is so new, they don’t have details up yet. What we do know is that it’s located on 15 gorgeous acres near Callicoon, one of our favorite little villages in the county. We also know that, according to the calendar, it’s free this weekend. Weekday rates are less at $250/night.
