Saugerties Tudor with Outbuildings Galore: Studios, play space, or a home office are all possibilities here.

  |  March 4, 2025

This spacious Saugerties Tudor has a nice interior and a few outbuildings, including a studio.

The 2,415-square-foot, post-and-beam home was built in 1973; a lot of the interior retains the ethos of that time period. The exterior is welcoming, with a double stack of screened porches and traditional Tudor timbering.

Mossy stones cover the floor of the ground-level terrace, which opens to a foyer.

Heading toward the living room, you’ll encounter a spiral staircase up to the second floor.

The living room has a nice cherry-wood floor…

…and a floor-to-second-story, stacked-stone fireplace.

The kitchen is white from its cabinets to the wainscoted breakfast area.

Dark, heavy timbers cross the ceiling. Appliances here are lacking, and the counters and backsplash could use renovation.

This main-floor bedroom has all the ’70s vibes, with rec-room-esque paneling.

The bathroom has a similar feel—check out the accordion door on the shower stall! It’s all in fairly good shape, so if the new owner is a fan, they might want to keep it all intact.

The paneling in the second main-floor bedroom has been whitewashed. The gray-painted floor gives it a modern feel, too.

The laundry room/mudroom has a door to the outside, and a stone-like linoleum floor.

Ascend the spiral staircase to a loft. We love those twisted spindles at the top. A wall of bookcases begs for this to be the biggest cozy reading nook.

A 24-pane window punches through a knotty-pine wall in this upstairs bedroom. Everything, besides the windows, is knotty pine in this room. Built-in shelves are a nice touch.

The second bedroom has teal walls that pop against an angled, cherry-wood, tongue-and-groove ceiling.

The second full bathroom serves those bedrooms. It has a vintage-’70s double-sink vanity and a multi-mirrored medicine cabinet.

There are a few outbuildings on the eight-acre property. This is the 840-square-foot studio.

It’s got a wall of mullioned windows and an adjoining wall of shelves.

We love the terra-cotta floor and the high-pitched ceiling.

This little shed has a grand entrance.

The interior, with baseboard heat and gingham curtains, is just too cute.

But wait, there’s more: Another shed has a tiny porch…

…and an explosion of color inside.

Finally, the two-car garage offers plenty of storage.

It’s got plenty of room for vehicles and other equipment…

…plus walk-up attic space.

The house is west of Saugerties, and is actually closer to Woodstock. There’s great hiking all around, and Levon Helm Studios is under a 15-minute drive.
