Secluded Mountain Barn in Margaretville
Mary Looram | July 30, 2015
Price/night: $600
Accommodations: 19th century barn with 6 bedrooms and 3 baths
Max guests: 15
Min stay: 2 nights
House description: Nothing says solitude like 300 acres of woods. You and 14 of your closest friends (or, hey, not so close friends) can enjoy this secluded barn with mountain views during any season. If, somehow, the property doesn’t provide enough entertainment, Bellearye and Plattekill are two nearby resorts, while Pepacton Reservoir offers water sports during the warmer months. Aside from the outside world, the barn has a gorgeous interior. Its open floor plan features rather than hides the wooden structure, while the large windows allow you to take in the mountain views during some downtime inside. An inside which, I might add, offers a pretty impressive master-chef kitchen. Considering the amenities, it’s no surprise the owners suggest a small family reunion or, even, a wedding for this property. It might be worth popping the question now to start planning for next summer’s romantic, private weekend wedding getaway (or, you can just read about one instead).
