Second Empire Victorian in Highland, $575,000
Kandy Harris | May 15, 2012
Sometimes, when we look at an area, we find a billion of these great old Victorian houses. Sometimes, we don’t find any. This is the only one we could find in Highland, and it’s certainly got some nice things going for it.
Here’s what’s good: The outside is easy on the eyes. We love the porch, the land is pretty with a pond, and it’s set back off the road. Inside, we like the kitchen and its mixture of exposed brick with ornate Victorian archways and touches.
But the wallpaper and the interior carpeting and paint look like they could use an updating. It all looks a little dated, a wee bit too much on the “Grandma’s House” side, not that there’s anything wrong with that. But we would love to see what this house could look like with some freshening up.
